#dearMoon

#dearMoon is a website dedicated to Yusaku Maezawa's 2023 journey to orbit the moon along with selected creators who it appears will be commissioned to create art for an exhibition.

Maezawa on if Picasso or John Lennon had had the opportunity to do the same:

If they had gone to space, how would the world have looked today?

Tesla Model 3

I would categorise any older American (40 plus?) as someone that loved their trucks and cheap gas. Nothing I could say would change their minds. But here we are with two driving electric cars and one of them is looking to go off grid.

It's the youngest of the three drivers that actually wanted a Model 3 for it's performance rather than it's green credentials which is probably the best way to look at a Tesla right now. You pay for performance and features, it just happens to be environmentally friendly. Right now a Model 3 also gets 310 miles of range which is the same, or more, on a charge than the two of the last 3 cars I've owned.

Ways to Change the World: Jameela Jamil

When my daughter is a bit older and inevitably feeling the pressures of her peers and social media, I'll play this podcast to her. It's inspiring to see Jameela Jamil use her platform in a positive way and not solely for financial gain and fame.

Car Masters: Rust to Riches trailer

The premise of the show reminds me of Lords of the Car Hoards/Rusted Development which features ex-pro wrestler Chuck Palumbo.

Take something old and turn it into something new is a now well recycled formula for car shows and it's fun to see the results. LotCH was unique in that it not only turned an old car into something new, it also helped to clear the insane collection of cars that people had hoarded with the intention of restoring one or more some day.

Netflix's Fastest Car looked fun, but turned out to be a bit of a non-event. Only the last 10-15 minutes was of any interest so I hope this new show is more exciting.

BBC x NERD astronaut logo tees

I've been a huge fan of N*E*R*D for almost 20 years and this collaboration with Pharrell's othing line is spot on. Feels like it should have happened sooner given the lyrics from a song on their second album:

astronaut suits for the BBC
