I don't doubt the results of this study, despite the small sample size. CarPlay looks really good, but Siri is too hit and miss for it to work seamlessly. Unless you trust Siri completely, you'll not only be glancing to check it heard you correctly but you have to pay attention to make sure it understood you too.
CarPlay is one aspect of this, but what's the market share in terms of cars that have access to CarPlay? Single figure percentages I would have thought. Improving Do Not Disturb mode while driving would be really useful. One tap execution of common tasks.
It's also weird that Siri can't work offline for simple on-device tasks like playing podcasts or music.
