I've been thinking of how best to share a summary version of all the content I publish or share online and while a newsletter was an obvious choice, executing on that idea just didn't seem to be as clear cut.
I've always pushed content out automagically to Twitter and Tumblr, some goes to LinkedIn and I have a semi-automated process for getting some content for SITEJOY onto Instagram. It's been a great way to share links to content but I'm ready to start taking that next step.
I had given up looking for a while, but then I stumbled across TinyLetter by Mailchimp and it looks like it ticks all the boxes for me. And so last week, the very first newsletter went out. It contained:
- Links to all of the articles I posted in July
- The 5 most popular notable items that I had shared
- The 5 most popular websites I had posted to SITEJOY
I'm happy with the format I went with for the first edition and will continue using that for a near future. My next goal is to auto-generate as much of the content as possible to make it easier to put together. But whether I need to do this manually or not, I'll be sending out a monthly newsletter to share content from both 1 Thing A Week and SITEJOY.
