Week 15 was posted by Charanjit Chana on 2018-02-05.
Back in 2014, Charles Young created and began publishing photos of his growing paper city on his Paperholm Tumblr blog. Young uses 200gsm watercolour paper and PVA glue to create the models. The project was conceived to allow Young to contribute one item each day but soon evolved from static photos to animated GIFs of the building. Below are some examples of some of his work for the project.
Where it all began
As with so many other things, Paperholm had humble begins as illustrated by this bungalow style model.
Using the same materials throughout and being able to produce such delicate models is impressive but even more so when you see how they come together.
You can find more from Charles Young on tumblr and Instagram and there have been features on the project from designboom, Colossal and VICE.
