My New Year's Resolutions for 2022

Week 219 was posted by Charanjit Chana on 2022-01-03.

As 2021 rolled around, I planned to draw a lot more. I’d really enjoyed learning about water colours and brush pens and wanted to dive in and build up some skills around this new creative outlet I had made for myself. Unfortunately, Covid got in the way early on and I spent very little time drawing this past year.

Since there's no better time than the start of the year to kick start something, 2022 seems like the perfect time to make up for last year. Rather than just water colours though, my New Year's resolution is to draw something every day. I have a bonus resolution for the year to read 12 books. That's 11 more than I got through in 2021.

I'll probably do most of my drawings digitally via Procreate with the odd analogue piece thrown in here and there. Maybe I'll even do a few hybrid pieces. With procreate I have the freedom to draw and paint, or I can even look at doing something a little more abstract so I think that’s likely to give me plenty of flexibility and freedom over the remaining 362 days of the year.

You can follow along with the hashtag #cchanaproject3652022 on Instagram or follow a Twitter thread I started.

I plan to put together a retrospective in 12 months time, looking at the books I've read and how my drawing style evolves.

If you have any suggestions for what I could draw, then please feel free to submit them for consideration.
